We visit traditional souks which are colorful Moroccan markets filled with colors and gorgeous handmade creations. We hand-pick the best treasures we can find and bring them back for you. We also like to encourage great designers from all over the world by showcasing their products on our online shop. It is our way of promoting creativity and independent design. We are a proud alternative to everything “made in China” and we love to offer a more thoughtful, meaningful and positive way to shop!
Who is Baba Souk?
While Stephanie thinks it’s pretty funny that everyone now calls her Baba or Stephy-Baba, Baba Souk is a name she invented for her shop when she created it in 2012. She was inspired by the Marrakech souk market to create her online boutique. A souk in Morocco is like a marvelous market where everything is colorful and handmade. Baba refers to a boho heart, a fun and positive spirit. Please visit our section to learn more about our founder.
When and how can I order?
You can order via our website any time of the day, 7 days a week. We confirm all orders by email within 24 hours. If after 24 hours, you did not receive an email confirmation, please check your spam box. Our email might end up there, as some email boxes are more sensitive than others. General business hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm (EDT local time). Emails are often checked outside business hours and responded to promptly. Feel free to contact us about any questions you may have. Your order will be shipped from Montreal, Canada by Canada Post services within the next 48 hours of your order placement. We will let you know by email once your purchase is on its way.
All our online payments are processed securely through PayPal or Stripe. We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard), debit cards or direct PayPal payments. Please note that you do NOT have to have a PayPal account to make a payment with a credit or debit card. Once you hit the Purchase button on our site, you will be redirected to Paypal. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can click on the link “Don’t have a PayPal account (located below the yellow button) and you will still be able to place your order.
-Can I still buy from your website if I don’t have a PayPal account? Yes! Paypal offers you that option. You can pay with your credit card. You just have to click on “don’t have a PayPal account” at the bottom of the PayPal form. (Located below the yellow button)
-Why does checkout direct me to PayPal when I want to pay with a credit card? All our online payments are processed securely through PayPal but you do NOT need a PayPal account to pay. Once you click on “Purchase”, PayPal will allow you to choose to pay with your credit card. You just have to click on “don’t have a PayPal account” at the bottom of the PayPal form, below the yellow button. Your order will be shipped once full payment is received.
All prices are listed in Canadian dollars.
Canada: Taxes for your particular province will apply. The tax amount charged will be visible during checkout prior to making your purchase.

Shipping to Canada & USA
The shipping cost will be clearly listed at checkout and on your final invoice before your order is placed. During checkout, you will be able to select the kind of shipping services you want, standard shipping or express shipping. We use Canada Post services and we always offer you the best shipping rates possible. Orders shipping to Canada using standard shipping usually take 2-5 business days to arrive on your doorstep. Orders shipping to the United States with standard shipping usually take 4-10 business days to arrive on your doorstep.
Express shipping: If ever you need your item faster, you can choose express services during checkout. Express services provide shipping within 2 business days mostly everywhere within Canada and 2-4 days within the United States. Please keep in mind we have 48h to ship your order. In most cases, we will ship it within 24h. Feel free to contact us about any questions you may have prior to placing your order.
Custom fees for USA orders
While they are not frequent, please note that additional duties and taxes assessed by customs are the responsibility of the customer.
Pick Up at The Baba Loft
You can now avoid shipping costs and pick up your order at our Montreal loft. Please email us to schedule your pick up. We are located in the HOMA district Near Metro Prefontaine. (There is also parking on the street). Our address is 2019 Moreau Street, Suite #300, Montreal, Canada H1W 2M1.
Shopping at The Baba Loft
If you prefer “real” shopping rather than ordering online, we would be very happy to greet you at our Baba loft. Please email us to schedule a shopping appointment. I’m sure you’ll love your visit, our loft is pretty sweet! We also organize pop-up boutiques throughout the year. If you want to be notified, we suggest you subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed.
Yes we do! We are happy to ship both domestic and international orders. Please email us with the items you wish to purchase and your international shipping address. We will provide a shipping quotation prior to proceeding with your order. When you approve, we will send an easy email invoice, payable online through PayPal. Orders shipping to international destinations may take longer to ship. However, we will provide an accurate shipment expected date by email once you make your purchase. For international orders, please note that additional duties and taxes assessed by customs are the responsibility of the customer.

Returns & Refunds
If you’re not happy, we’re not happy! We aim to please, so if you’re not completely pleased with your order, we’ll do whatever we can to make it better! If you would like to return your purchase, please within 5 days of receiving your order. Please return undamaged merchandise to us within 14 days for a full refund. Please note that we take great care in packaging and items rarely arrive damaged. But if any of your items do arrive damaged, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and we will either refund your purchase price or send you replacement items for free.

Where are these products made?
Our Baba Souk exclusive products are designed locally by our team or made in collaboration with a designer we love. We also select hand picked products from great independent designers from around the world. Our imported products are all made by hand by talented craftspeople. For the time being, we mostly carry handmade products from Morocco. These products come from the souks, which are typical colorful markets.
